Articling students

On 01.07.2003 the German "Act on the Reformation of the Training and Education of Law Students" came into effect, an act that is designed to better prepare law student for their profession, in particular for the tasks of the attorney. Finally, a well-known reality has been officially acknowledged: between 80% and 90% of all law students who completed their second judicial examination will choose the occupation of attorney. For many years now, our law firm has offered articling students the opportunity to deepen their understanding of German law by completing their prescribed internship period ( "Wahlstation") with us. Following an initial phase of adjustment and familiarization, they are then given the chance to manage clients with increasingly less direction and to assist with our current assignments. In addition, problems involving German-Canadian legal relations may be analyzed and presented by the students, which also serves as an excellent preparation for their oral exams. If you are interested in gaining hands-on experience as member of a great team in one of the world's most beautiful cities, just send us your application! Please direct your queries to Ms. Vera Gajic (office@liebrecht.com).

Since our space is limited to one intern in our Vancouver office we often get the question: "Where else in Western Canada can I apply for such an internship". In case you get refused by us you can also try it at the office of the Honorary Consul of Germany in Calgary. Please send your application to (calgary@hk-diplo.de). Good Luck!
